THE ROLE

 

Responsible for increasing sales and market share of company products to accounts and prospects in assigned district, including managing architectural, complex, and light commercial projects from concept through completion.  The Architectural Consultant (AC) secures JELD-WEN as basis of design for appropriate projects that their Architectural Accounts have designed.  Utilizing intimate product application knowledge & industry expertise the AC is to establish a “trusted-advisor” relationship with the design firms in their territory.  The AC also provides technical and sales support to the local JELD-WEN sales team (including dealers), to appropriately select & utilize JELD-WEN products in both high end residential and commercial projects.  In this role, the incumbent will be expected to cover territories between Maryland through Virginia.

 

Location: May reside in Maryland, Washington D.C., or Virginia but prefer a resident of the D.C. area.

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and achieve annual sales forecast and accurate budget proposals.
  • Aggressively pursue and secure new sales opportunities.
  • Use the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) program to plan activities, manage accounts, manage contacts, identify, track opportunities, manage leads, and communicate pertinent information.
  • Provide product and solution expertise.
  • Facilitate services which may include: initial consultation, performance analysis, code compliance, design assistance and implementation, Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and shop drawings, specifications, product mock-ups and samples.
  • Assist and coordinate site survey, field testing and on-site installation guidance.
  • The employee may be required to travel in support of visiting sites and developing a customer base (50%+)
  • Achieve annual sales targets through collaboration with local JELD-WEN resources to ensure project opportunities are closed and won.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

 

  • Ability to read and understand construction documents and knowledge of installation methods, and local and national building codes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Customer Relationship Management Software, Electronic Pricing Catalogue, Expense Reporting Program, and Internet Web Browser
  • Must be competent in AutoCAD and Google Sketch Up.
  • Accredited CDT, CCPR or established date to take exam (12 months maximum to achieve certification) preferred but not required.

 

Education and Experience

 

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or minimum of five years related sales experience and/or training, preferably in the window and door industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
