You will lead a highly dedicated team of employees, playing a pivotal role in overseeing and elevating our daily operations at the manufacturing site in Alavus, Finland.

 

Your role

At JELD-WEN Finland, we operate a manufacturing site in Alavus, where approximately 120 dedicated people work in daily operations. As Production Manager, you will be responsible for the entire production chain. You will hold the managerial responsibility of 7 direct reports. Reporting directly to the Factory Manager, the scope of the role is to oversee our manufacturing operations at our production site in Alavus, Finland. Your responsibilities also entail ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. You will support the Factory Manager in fostering and sustaining a continuous improvement culture at the Alavus site. Your role will play a vital part in ensuring the factory in Alavus meets the SQDCIP targets (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Capacity, Inventory and People). You will own and steer the factory’s safety and delivery performance and be responsible for capacity and quality management.


Your responsibilities

  • Drive the management system to control daily SQCDIP performance and continuously challenge the status quo
  • Develop operation using Lean tools
  • Structure Project governance and reviews with the site management team
  • Align productivity projects and Capex projects with financial P&L benefits
  • Ensure the productivity and Capex projects have quantifiable and proven benefits. Support project leaders to validate the project proposal and logic.
  • Support the Factory Manager in driving the monthly scorecard reviews
  • Control production volumes and quality requirements with the support of the Production Planner and Quality organisation
  • Organise the work of employees to ensure the execution of the production plan and implement necessary changes
     

Your skills and experiences

  • Several years of experience from a similar role as Production Manager within a manufacturing environment
  • A degree in Engineering or an equivalent vocational qualification
  • Proven leadership abilities and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Solid experience working with Lean tools, such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Standard Work Celluar Flow etc.
  • Excellent communications skills to communicate and influence employees on all levels from the shop floor to the Operations Director
  • Experience from a ‘Safety First’ culture with a zero-tolerance and continuous safety improvement mentality
  • Analytical, motivating and team-oriented
  • IT literate and competent with managing and interpreting key business-related data
  • Fluency in spoken and written Finnish and being proficient in English is a prerequisite for this role
